IDes 1601 Interior Design Studio I (4 Credits), offered fall semester only

Prerequisite: Pre-Interior Design major

 

Course Description

Introduction to the process and communication skills required of the interior design profession.

 

Course Objectives

  • Use the visual communication skills of the interior design profession, including drafting and sketching, to convey interior design solutions.
  • Explore the principles and elements of design in both two-and three-dimensions.
  • Use the design process employed by the interior design profession.
  • Identify the space standards used when designing for human behavior.
  • Explore solutions for interior environmental problems that emphasize human behavior theory and space planning.
  • Explore concept development.
  • Explore spatial solutions by creating and analyzing options.
