IDes 2603 Interior Design Studio III (4 Credits), offered fall semester only

Prerequisites: Pass Portfolio Review, ID major

 

Course Description

This class will explore the external and internal forces that influence the design of interior environments, including neighborhood, adjacent structure, and region.  It will prepare students to work on a team in a collaborative effort to produce a design solution.  Students will explore a variety of solutions to produce one that works with program and space requirements.  It will also expand on presentation skills (both visual and verbal).  Additionally, visual communication of the design process will continue. 

 

Course Objectives

  • Use a variety of drawing media to effectively communicate design development.
  • Use a variety of drawing media to effectively communicate design solutions.
  • Understand and discuss the interior environment in the context of the exterior.
  • Discuss and orally present how artifacts enhance and reflect concept.
  • Explore a variety of visual presentation techniques.
  • Improve verbal presentation skills through daily informal presentations of renderings.
