IDes 4615W Interior Design Research (2 credits), offered fall semester only


Prerequisite: Complete IDes 3606 Interior Design Studio VI with a minimum grade of C-.


Course Description

This course is the study of research methods used for programming of interior design solutions. A comprehensive program is developed for the senior thesis project. Current issues that affect interior design research and practice are also discussed.


Course Objectives

  • Explore research methods used in interior design research, industry, and practice.
  • Examine the role of interior design research in practice.
  • Identify a problem that explores the relationship between human behavior and quality of the designed environment.
  • Complete the data collection and written analysis for a comprehensive design problem.
